Any scrappers? |

I'd like to make scrapbooks for each of my kids. But I know there is ALOT of stuff out there and I'd like some advice from experienced scrappers. What
should I start with and what would you put in a "beginner's kit"?

I really enjoy Scrapbooking, I find it relaxing to sit and do my scrapbooking especially in the winter when I don't get out as much.

OH! I had done some scrapping a little a few years ago, but just got back into it. I decided I wanted to do a scrapbook of all my work friends, a friend a
page, with something hand written for me from each of them. I haven't started taking pics for that yet, but I have started practicing with some of my pics
here at home. I just went to Joann, and bought one of their beginner kits that was on clearance for $8.97. It had paper, stickers, borders, frames, tags,
journal things, die cuts and all that in it. I bought some tape runners and a glue stick, new scissors, a mat stack for 4x6 pics, and some misc stickers.
That got me started, and I've been digging out our pic discs and ordering prints from Walmart so I can do layouts as I go. I print a few pics, and then
shop for embellishments as they come up. I've done quite a few cute layouts so far.
I've also been wanting to do some pics of my grandpa who passed away last November, and saw this really neat idea in a magazine. You take old books, and alter them. I have three of his old school books from elementary school, and I'm going to use one to do my pics of him in and give the other two to my cousins to do the same. Have you started yet Deb? If not, be sure to go to Joann and check out their clearance. It's a great start, but BEWARE , it's hella addictive!! (And gets expensive!!) I'll take pics of my
layouts and post them when I get my cam back from my aunt!

I've heard it's addictive Kat! LOL I actually made a book for Mikaela about 8 years ago, but never finshed it. I'd really like to catch up with it
and hopefully have it done by the time she graduates high school!

Yeah, I'll bet! I think knitting would be less so, right Deb! LOL Once you have all the needles and yarn...
I really should take up crocheting again....I liked it.
