Posts: 380 08/27/83 3:16 PM	Tags : None I went to see about going to Ross Medical for a program. Well, I start class on Monday @ 8:50am to 2:50pm Monday thru Thursday. I go back tomorrow @ 11am to do the finical ad and get registered. Class goes through the end of February. They also do job placement and before you end your class you go do like an internship but they call it an externship. It's for their Medical Insurance Billing And Office Administration program. I'm SO excited about this and a bit nervous as well. It has been ages since I've been in a school type setting. So, this means I will not be on here or any other board as much. I am a graduate of the Medical Office Assistant Program and even though I am not working in the field, a lot of the information is relevant to other professions. I also carried a minor in psychology & nursing. In fact, I was seriously considering going back for RN, but am still debating it. I have 6 credit hours left for my BA in psych. I dropped out when Josh died, because how could I help others if I couldn't help myself? So that is also a possiblity. Worlds of opportunity will open up for you. Medical billing was a good program. To this day, I can still remember my professor saying that when you do coding "Code to the highest degree of specificity". LOL I did some coding for the various physicians I worked for. I found working for the infertility specialist the most gratifying, because I did a ton of hands on clinical work. I went to college in my 30's and got my degree. You will do just fine! I think as we get a little older, it is easier to learn - we concentrate better and have less distraction! Congratulations again! I am very happy & excited for you! Posts: 380 07/20/08 9:14 AM	Thank you Dee.. I like this program because it deals with what I want to do. I don't have to take this and that course with the course I want to learn about. That is one thing I didn't like about going to community college right after high school. That and the fact I didn't like school and wanted to wait before going to college. With this program they help you get a job yes and I hope 6 months to a year after the program we will be living on our own. Posts: 209 07/20/08 7:37 PM	When I went back to school in my 30's, I heard some comments about wasting my time & such, but I was driven and wanted it bad enough to go for it anyways. Posts: 380 07/24/08 7:50 PM	Thanks but I dropped on Tuesday. :( I had to because I didn't realize how much gas it sucked up. There was no way I could afford going back and forth 4 days a week. Though on the other hand I might have a job subbing for a school in the Food Service department. I need to get fingerprinted and then they do a background check through that.
