She's going into the 5th grade. 1 Three ring 2" binder 8 packs of loose leaf notebook paper 8 pocket dividers for 3 ring binder with plastic zippered pockets with 3 holes for binder 1 12 pack #2 lead pencils 1 box 16 or 24 count crayons 1 box 24 count colored pencils 1 box large markers (basic colors) 1 pair scissors 2 glue sticks extra erasers 5 folders with brads and pockets 1 hand held pencil sharpener with catch for shavings webster pocket dictionary and thesaurus 1 bottle hand sanitizer 1 box facial tissue 1 box gallon storage bags 1 box quart storage bags 4 dry erase markers 2 packs 4x6 index cards 1 cube (5 pack) 3x3 post-it notes And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and the sharing of pleasures. Posts: 640 07/20/08 9:42 PM	That looks about right! Mikaela will be in 6th this year and that's pretty close to what she needs. But she needs 4 boxes of tissues and a protractor this year. Soapy, did your DD need to read over the summer or do math practice sheets? Mikaela had to read 5 books, do reports on them and a packet of math sheets. Summer is sizzlin' @ The Smorgasboard! My little one was in a reading program but it was through the library not the school. Lord- that doesn't even make sense that she had to do that! He has math flash cards to color, cut out and practice and he has to read (with me) 10 books and do "reports" on them. They go to parochial school. Very regimented--even in the summer! Summer is sizzlin' @ The Smorgasboard! Join us!

Posts: 640 07/27/08 10:57 PM	Oh ok, that explains it. I thought public school, I never even thought about a private school Yeah, they go to Catholic School Soapy. Not my 1st choice, but...LOL Mike is an alumni at that school. I don't mind too much since they're getting a faith-based education. And I enjoy going to their Christmas concerts as opposed to the "Holiday Concert" at the public school. But it's looking like public high school--the same one I went to hopefully!
